On 21.11.2017 in the municipality of Shtip, the constitutive session of the Council for development of the East planning region was held.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Balanced Regional Development, the Constituent Session was convened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Stip, Mr. Blagoj Bocvarski, as the Mayor of the largest, by number of inhabitants, a municipality in the region.

Mr. Nikolco Ilijev, Mayor of the Municipality of Kocani, was elected unanimously for the Chairman of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region.

President's term of office 2 (two) years, with the right to re-election.

The Deputy Minister of Local Self-Government also attended the session.
