In the period from 26-29.08.2019, a delegation from the Municipality of Zalec and the Savinja Development Agency visited the East Planning Region. The purpose of the visit was to promote the mutual friendly, professional and professional international relations between the two regions, as well as to extend the current cooperation between the municipalities belonging to the regions, institutions, business sector, civil society organizations, etc.

On 27.08.2019 in the Tourist Information Center Ponikva a working meeting was held between the Delegation from the Republic of Slovenia and the Mayors from the East Planning Region. The working meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Local Self-Government, Mr. Dejan Pavlevski. The working meeting ended with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Center for Development of the East Planning Region and the Savinja Development Agency. The subject of the Agreement is to create conditions for both institutions, municipalities belonging to the regions, business sector, organizations, associations and citizens of the partner municipalities to get acquainted with the history, present and future plans for social life, culture, sport, travel and entrepreneurship that they would use in joint development.

The delegation from the Republic of Slovenia, besides visiting the municipalities of Kocani, Vinica, Karbinci and Shtip where they were received by the Mayors, also visited certain industrial capacities in these municipalities as an opportunity for future business cooperation between Macedonian and Slovenian companies.

One area of cooperation is of course the cultural and historical heritage so guests had the opportunity to visit the Bargala Archaeological Site.
