The Programme for preservation of nature in Macedonia is a project that will develop a number of strategic documents such as studies, strategies and othes of all areas relevant to the development of the East Planning Region. These strategic documents at the level of the East Planning Region are almost non-existent or have but do not cover the entire region or made long ago. One that will give a great contribution to the study of biological diversity is "Analysis of gaps in environmental data and preparation of maps of environmental sensitivity of the area of the confluence of the river Bregalnica."

Therefore selected expert team on 28.11.2014 year in the Natural Museum in Skopje, held a working meeting with representatives of the Centre for development of the East Planning Region, Pharmachem, donor SDC, students and other interested participants presented the results of the completed research.

Team Leader PhD Slavcho Christovski along with other members of the team presented the current state of knowledge of biodiversity in the basin of the river Bregalnica and future plans to fill the gaps, the situation with the knowledge of the fauna, hydrobiology, flora, fungi, habitats, limits agrobiodiversity, protected areas, ecosystem  services, important forest ecosystems. Then followed the presentation of the situation by mapping methodology for preparing the map of ecological sensitivity and work with the database.

Expert meeting concluded with the presentation of future plans in meeting the expected results.
