On 02.11.2015, at the Centre for Development was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Centre for Development of East Planning Region and Rural Development Network, a project which is implemented by the USAID project "Adapting agriculture to climate change" in the East Planning Region.

In Municipality of Berovo was held the first meeting for LEADER who will be future IPARD measures in the Republic of Macedonia. The meeting was attended representatives from municipalities, local businesses, NGOs and other stakeholders that can affect the overall development in micro-region Mallesh-Pijanec or municipalities Berovo, Delchevo, Pehchevo and Makedonska Kamenica.

This cooperation takes place through the Network for Rural Development of the Republic of Macedonia, and the Centre for Development of East Planning Region with the support of USAID. On today's first of seven meetings attendees had the opportunity to learn about the axis in the Rural Development (2007 - 2013) which also received information about the history of LEADER, but also talked about the next steps that should be the basis for the establishment of Local action groups in microregion.

Next steps planned as part of the approach are the preparation of local development strategies based on the area in accordance with a bottom-up, the formation of public - private partnerships through integrated and multi-sectoral action by introducing innovation, cooperation and networking between the partners. The project will be implemented over the next few months, as the end result will be the formation of a legal entity "Local Action Group-LAG".
