On November 27, 2020 (Friday) was held the eighteenth (XVIII) Session of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region, which due to the state of emergency in the world COVID 19, was conducted online through the virtual platform Zoom.
The session was attended by the Mayors of the municipalities within the East Planning Region, the Director of the Bureau for Regional Development Mr. Ramiz Rexhepi, representatives of the Bureau for Regional Development and representatives of the project "Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development".
The key point of the XVIII Session of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region was the presentation of the proposed concept solutions, the fourth step of the concept of regional community forums, a tool for identification, prioritization and preparation of projects for funding from the Program for balanced regional development 2021, managed by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Bureau for Regional Development.
The proposed concept solutions were previously identified, based on the selected priority areas and sub-areas from the first forum session, which was conducted through an online questionnaire. Furthermore, with the hired external expert, Denis Zernovski, a field visit was conducted in all 11 municipalities and thirty concept solutions were identified in response to the identified problems by the population in the East Planning Region.
At today's Session, based on the previously established criteria for regional character, the necessary financial means for implementation and maturity of the concept solutions, 15 concept solutions were presented by the external expert, and the Council for Development of the East Planning Region decided to continue with the next steps. the following five concept solutions:
1. City market in Delchevo - open and closed part - II phase;
2. Enrichment of the contents for recreation in the East region-Municipality of Stip and Municipality of Kocani;
3. Installation of energy-efficient lighting on part of the highway entrance - exit Municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
4. Further arrangement of the regional cultural-tourist complex Lesnovo;
5. Development of sports-recreational and lake tourism and improvement of the infrastructure in the East planning region through construction of a local road in the tourist settlement Berovo Lake.
In the coming days, a second forum session will be conducted for these five concept solutions, through which the population of the region will have the opportunity to give remarks and recommendations for their improvement. for funding from the Balanced Regional Development Program for 2021.
The whole process of identification of project proposals for funding through the Balanced Regional Development Program in 2021 is supported by the project "Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development", a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Ministry of Local Government.
