On April 25, 2018, the fifth session of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region was held in Probistip Municipality.

At the meeting, a decision was made to grant consent for the initiation of the procedure for the proclamation of protected areas Osogovski Planini and Čengino Kale in the Eastern Planning Region. The adoption of this decision was preceded by a brief presentation by the representatives of the Macedonian ecological society, which emphasized the most important achievements of these regions, as well as for the bills that follow in the process of proclamation of the protected area.

The Council of the Eastern Planning Region provided full support to the Center to apply for projects through the Cross-Border Cooperation Program with the Republic of Bulgaria, which will develop projects in the field of tourism with partners from Belica Municipality and Goce Delcev Municipalities.

The meeting also discussed the obligations that the municipalities have towards the Center for Development of the East Planning Region based on the realization of projects and the dynamics of payments in the coming period.

The Mayors discussed and changed their thinking about the current problems that they face daily in the management of the municipalities, and agreed that in the future they should deal with regionally determined situations that are seized by all citizens of this region.

Representatives of the Macedonian Ecological Society, the National Coordinator of the Program for Conservation of Nature in Macedonia, as well as representatives from Inpum were present at the meeting.
